US President Donald Trump has confirmed his intention to resume nuclear weapons testing.
"This process will begin immediately," Trump wrote on his Truth social media page. According to the American leader, the reason for the decision is that other countries are already conducting test programs, and the United States should do the same on equal terms.
A week ago, Trump had already made the same statement, which caused a wide international response, since the United States has not conducted nuclear tests since 1992.
On Wednesday, it became known that Russian President Vladimir Putin had instructed the government to assess the feasibility of possible nuclear tests.
