The situation in the South Caucasus is improving, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu said. Azerbaijani state news agencies reported.

According to Shoigu, it is essential to resume the work of the consultative and regional group of the "3+3" platform to advance the peace process.

"In general, the situation in the South Caucasus is improving. At the same time, we believe that the peace process should, first and foremost, have regional dimensions. In this context, it is important to resume the work of the consultative and regional group of the "3+3" platform," he noted.

Sergey Shoigu emphasized that the unblocking of transport communications in the region is of great importance, an agreement on which was reached within the framework of the trilateral working group.
