Georgia has no path to the European Union. Kallas

Georgia is the only EU candidate country that has regressed, and significantly so, said Kaja Kallas, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

According to her, at this stage, Georgia has no path to the EU unless conditions change dramatically.

“Georgia is now only a nominal candidate country. This is also reflected in the report on enlargement published today,” Kallas said.

According to Kallas, four countries have generally shown positive results in the document: Albania, Moldova, Montenegro, and Ukraine.

The prospects for Serbia, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Turkey, are ambiguous.

“The prospects for Georgia are negative. At this stage, Georgia has no path to the European Union unless conditions change dramatically. It is now only a nominal candidate country,” added Kaja Kallas.
