Despite Trump's threat to cut federal funding, Zohran Mamdani was elected mayor of New York.
In his speech, Mamadani said: "I am a Muslim, a socialist. And New York will remain a city of immigrants, led by immigrants."
Recall that US President Donald Trump threatened to limit federal funding for New York if Democratic Party candidate Zohran Mamdani wins the mayoral election on Tuesday. He urged his supporters to vote for former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
