Almost all of Iran’s enriched uranium remains in place after the Israeli and US strikes, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, told the Financial Times.
“The damage was enormous, but we estimate that most, if not all, of the uranium, enriched to 60%, as well as to 20%, 5% and 2%, is still there. The material is still there, and although we do not link it to any ultimate goal, it is clear that the existence of such high-level enrichment material, close to weapons, is a concern,” he said.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the republic’s leadership intends to continue enriching uranium for peaceful purposes and excludes the possibility of discussing the future of its missile program.
