For Trump, a golden dessert and a golden tie: Korea's special reception

South Korea has decided to highlight US President Donald Trump's love of gold during his visit by hosting a special gold-themed dinner.

At the end of a working lunch with President Lee Jae-myung, Trump was served a "golden dessert," which, according to the Korean presidential office, symbolizes the two countries' commitment to peace and prosperity.

The dessert consisted of brownies decorated with gold crumbs and tangerines, served on plates with the word "PEACE" written on them, symbolizing the "golden age of the Korea-US alliance."

At the beginning of the visit, Trump was presented with a replica of a historic gold crown, created based on a crown from the Silla Kingdom, the original of which is kept at the National Museum of Gyeongju.

Lee Jae-myung wore a specially made gold tie during the meeting. According to the presidential office, this color was chosen not only to reflect Trump's preference, but also as a symbol of the "golden future" of the alliance between the two countries and South Korea's high status.

The South Korean leadership also emphasized Trump's style, recalling that during his time in the White House, gold details prevailed.

The luncheon in Gyeongju featured an appetizer of Korean seafood with Thousand Island dressing, a nod to Trump's New York roots, and the main course was a braised American beef rib with fresh vegetables and freshly harvested Gyeongju rice.

During the official dinner at the end of the day, guests were served Trump Chardonnay and Trump Cabernet Sauvignon from Eric Trump's winery.
