EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos stated in an interview with the Georgian newspaper Pirveli that, under the Georgian Dream policy, Georgia will not become an EU member state even by 2030.
“We know that the Georgian authorities claim that Georgia will become a member of the European Union by 2030, but this will be impossible if the country continues on this path. The Georgian Dream policy will not work. We are developing a new mechanism to suspend the visa-free regime, which will be approved in November. After that, we will discuss many options and possibilities. The Georgian Dream needs to listen and look more closely at what we are doing in Europe,” she said.
