US President Donald Trump is likely to name the ballroom to be built in the East Wing of the White House after himself, ABC reported, citing senior Trump administration officials.
As a businessman with extensive experience in building everything from golf courses to office towers, Trump has repeatedly stated that the White House lacks space for significant events. This is the rationale for his project. He previously announced that a $ 200 million ballroom would be built next to the residence.
“President Trump is likely to name the new $ 300 million White House ballroom after himself. Officials are already calling it the “President Donald Trump Ballroom.” The name will likely remain that way, the television channel reported.
According to official records, the East Wing was built in 1902 and has undergone numerous renovations since then. Traditionally, this part of the building has been used by First Ladies and their teams, while the offices of Presidents and their teams have been located in the West Wing.
