France to supply missiles and aircraft to Kyiv

French President Emmanuel Macron has taken a clear position on the need to provide military support to Ukraine and increase the pressure of sanctions against Russia.

In an online address to the leaders of the Coalition of the Willing, broadcast on YouTube, Macron noted that the Coalition of the Willing is committed to peace and strives for a “just, credible and lasting peace.”

“It is important to continue our efforts to support Ukraine and maintain pressure on Russia,” he stressed.

The French leader noted that efforts will be made in the coming weeks to provide additional financial support to Ukraine while increasing military support.

The French president, addressing Zelensky separately, confirmed that Paris will deliver additional Aster missiles in the coming days. New training programs for the Ukrainian military will also be organized, and new Mirage aircraft will be deployed.

Macron noted that, given the intensification of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, it is still necessary to continue supporting Ukraine’s energy resilience, using all available tools.

He noted that he supports increasing pressure on Russia. Macron considers the new US sanctions against Russian oil companies a “turning point.” He believes that these sanctions are perfectly consistent with the 19th package of sanctions imposed by the European Union.

“The effectiveness of the sanctions must clearly affect Russia’s war financing,” Macron added, emphasizing the need to continue work on the 20th package of EU sanctions to increase the cost of war for Moscow.
