Berlin sends note of protest to China over microchip ban

Germany has sent a diplomatic note to Beijing over a ban on the export of microchips from China to Europe. As BILD has learned, the imposed blockade has caused severe disruptions in the supply of components for the automotive and electronics industries.

The crisis was triggered by the nationalization of the Dutch company Nexperia, previously owned by Chinese investors, after which Beijing suspended semiconductor exports to the EU.

German Economy Minister Katherina Reiche confirmed that Berlin had sent an official note to China's Commerce Minister.
