US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said the US still wants to meet with Russia despite the Trump administration’s sanctions on two of Russia’s largest oil companies.
“We would still like to meet with the Russians… I had a good conversation with Foreign Minister Lavrov, and we will follow up. We are always interested in working together if there is a chance for peace,” Rubio said.
According to him, President Trump has repeatedly said for several months that at some point he will have to do something if there is no progress on a peace agreement.
“Today was the day he decided to do something,” Rubio stressed.
