Stability in the South Caucasus is of strategic importance for Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi received Khalaf Khalafov, the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Border and Caspian Sea Issues.

According to Iranian media, Araghchi stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran's will is to develop and expand comprehensive relations with Azerbaijan and to eliminate any obstacles to this process.

The Minister noted the strategic importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus region for Iran and the entire area.

️He emphasized Iran's principled position on respecting the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of countries, preventing geopolitical changes, and resolving disputes through diplomatic means.

He expressed hope that the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan would establish peace and security in the region.
