Media outlets are circulating videos showing former French President Nicolas Sarkozy leaving his home to travel to a Paris prison, where he will begin serving his sentence today.
Sarkozy, 70, was sentenced to five years in prison in September in connection with a case involving Libyan financing of his 2007 election campaign.
The video shows the former president's supporters gathering in front of his home and applauding him.
