Hungary is ready to ensure the security of the talks between the presidents of Russia and the United States in Budapest, said Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations, Péter Szijjártó. According to him, the date and details of the summit depend on the outcome of the foreign ministers' meeting between the two countries next week.
"Of course, we are ready in Budapest to provide the necessary conditions so that the presidents of the United States and Russia can hold talks in a safe and calm atmosphere. Hungary is the safest country in Europe and one of the safest in the world," Szijjártó said at a press conference in Budapest.
He stressed that Budapest will receive Russian President Vladimir Putin with respect and guarantee his unhindered arrival and departure from Hungary.
