Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze called the lack of US action surprising, given the complete overlap between Trump's values and those of the "Georgian Dream" movement. He stated that further delay in the resumption could lead to a "victory of the deep state," which, according to Kobakhidze, currently exerts enormous influence on the US State Department.
"Let's wait patiently and see who will ultimately win. The important thing is to see the concrete steps the new administration is taking in response to our statement. We will forget everything that happened: the encouragement of the revolution, USAID, NED, we will forget all these issues. From a clean slate and with a specific guideline, we are ready to discuss any issues that arise from the interests of the American and Georgian sides. We are ready to reflect everything in the new agreement," Kobakhidze stated.
