US President Donald Trump said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promised to stop buying oil from Russia.
According to Bloomberg, this happened during a conversation between the two leaders on October 15. The details of this conversation were not previously published.
“I was not happy with India’s oil purchases, and today he assured me that they will not buy oil from Russia. This is an important step. Now I have to get the same from China,” Trump said.
At the same time, the president admitted that India cannot immediately stop buying oil.
“This is a process, but it will be over soon,” Trump added.
