Yesterday, Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, who is in Georgia as the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, delivered a message in front of the Tbilisi parliament building.
After meeting with government representatives, Valtonen approached the protesters and recorded a video expressing support for citizens concerned about the country’s political course.
“I am in Tbilisi, in front of the parliament building. There is a peaceful demonstration here. People are waving the flags of the EU, NATO, Finland, and, most importantly, Georgia. These people are concerned about the direction the country is heading. They are being deprived of their fundamental freedoms, freedom of speech, and assembly. They deserve all these rights, and we are here to support them,” she said.
