US President Donald Trump has demanded that Hamas return the bodies of all the dead Israeli hostages, announcing that the next phase of the Gaza peace plan has begun.
Before that, the group handed over the bodies of four more Israelis, whose coffins had already crossed the border into Israel.
“All 20 surviving hostages have returned and are doing as well as could be expected. A great burden has been lifted, but the job is not done yet. The dead have not been returned as promised. Phase 2 of the peace plan begins now,” Trump wrote on the Truth Social network.
Hamas representatives had stated that it would be difficult to find some of the bodies, since the hostages were held by different groups and died in other parts of the Gaza Strip.
In addition, the terrorists claimed that some bodies may be under the rubble of buildings destroyed during the war, and heavy equipment would be required to extract them.
