Erdogan initially refused to land in Egypt because of Netanyahu

According to CNN Türk, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan refused to land in Egypt after learning that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was planning to attend the Sharm el-Sheikh summit.

Erdogan’s plane circled the Red Sea several times without landing. It landed only after it became clear that Netanyahu’s participation in the summit had been canceled.

Erdogan had made it clear that he would not attend any summit if Netanyahu were present, according to sources.
