Responding to these developments, Donald Trump announced an official US response, emphasizing that this step is being taken on behalf of the United States, regardless of what other countries decide.
"Starting in 2025. "As of November 1 (or sooner, depending on possible further actions by China), the United States will impose a 100% tariff on China, in addition to all existing tariffs. Export controls will be imposed on all critical software," he said.
