There was no crisis in relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. It was a crisis of feelings, Vladimir Putin said, referring to the relations between the two countries.
He also expressed hope that feelings toward Azerbaijan will remain a thing of the past.
“Feelings, of course, are inevitable, but it is always better to restrain them so that they do not interfere with work. I hope all this is in the past,” Putin said.
He also stated that Azerbaijan is practically a Russian-speaking country, indicating the state’s willingness to develop relations with Russia.
“Let me remind you that Azerbaijan is also practically a Russian-speaking country: Russian is spoken everywhere there. This also testifies to the country’s fundamental commitment to developing relations with Russia,” he said.
Putin added that he has great hope for the future development of relations between the two countries.
