On the night of October 10, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Kyiv, using attack drones and ballistic missiles, the Ukrainian Air Force said.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the main strikes were on critical infrastructure.
“The left bank of the capital is without electricity. There are also problems with the water supply,” Klitschko wrote. The city administration warned of the suspension of metro train services from the right to the left bank. Power outages also occurred in other parts of Kyiv, said Timur Tkachenko, the head of the city’s military administration.
Fragments from the downed drones damaged residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in several districts of the city. A fire broke out in a 17-story building in the Pechersk district, injuring nine people, five of whom were hospitalized, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported.
