If the right-wing populist Action of Dissident Citizens (ANO) party, which won the Czech elections, manages to form a ruling coalition, it will ensure that the country’s budget stops allocating funds for military assistance to Ukraine, the party’s leader, billionaire Andrej Babis, said.
He called for the burden of military assistance to Ukraine to be shifted directly to the EU. According to Babis, the Czech Republic already allocates “60 billion” to the EU budget, which supports Ukraine.
Andrej Babis also promised again to stop the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for the Ukrainian army, within the framework of which, according to media reports, Ukraine received 1.5 million artillery shells in 2024 and 1.1 million in 2025.
