There will be no third forces in the Caspian Sea

A strategic agreement was signed during a meeting of the naval commanders of Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Kazakhstan in St. Petersburg. The document aims to strengthen security and develop cooperation in the Caspian Sea.

The main provision of the agreement is that no foreign state or extra-regional power will have the right to interfere in the internal affairs of the Caspian Sea. The security of the Caspian Sea is ensured exclusively by the littoral states.
