The United States and Canada are discussing the possibility of expanding the coverage of the latest Golden Dome air defense system to Canada. US President Donald Trump announced this during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the White House.
“We are working closely on the Golden Dome project. It is a defense mechanism, and you can see how it works. It is incredible. Ronald Reagan dreamed of something like this, but the technology did not exist at that time,” the American leader emphasized.
Trump added that Washington and Ottawa will now collaborate on the Golden Dome project for both countries, which is particularly important in the current global context.
In late June, it was announced that the US government intends to allocate $ 25 billion in the 2026 fiscal year to create this missile defense system.
