Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev may meet in Dushanbe on the sidelines of the CIS summit, said Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
On October 8, Vladimir Putin will arrive in Tajikistan on a state visit. The next day, he will participate in the second Central Asia-Russia summit, and on October 10, in a session of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS.
It is worth noting that, against the backdrop of strained relations between the countries, Ilham Aliyev extended his congratulations to Vladimir Putin on his birthday today, and Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov considered the conversation significant.
