Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that Washington has remained silent on Tbilisi’s proposals to restore relations.
“We want to restore relations with the United States and restore our strategic partnership, but so far Washington has remained silent,” Kobakhidze said.
Two letters were previously sent from Tbilisi to Washington, one written by Kobakhidze himself, the other by President Kavelashvili.
Kobakhidze noted that although Washington has not yet given Tbilisi the expected response under the Trump administration, none of the recent meetings between Georgian and American representatives have been “tense.”
“Unlike the previous administration, in the new situation, there have been no tense meetings. We are ready to restore relations. The main thing is for someone to show us that they do not consider us enemies. This is the minimum requirement,” Kobakhidze said.
