About a thousand climbers remain on Everest

Heavy snowfall has left climbers stranded on the eastern slope of Mount Everest. Weather conditions are preventing rescuers from reaching the climbers.

Climbers are forced to stay in tents at the base camp at an altitude of 4,900 meters. Some shelters are completely buried, and there are reports of hypothermia.

Meanwhile, in neighboring Nepal, torrential rains have caused floods and landslides, killing at least 47 people and destroying roads and bridges.
