Russia launches massive missile attack on Ukrainian gas infrastructure

On the night of October 3, the Russian military launched a powerful missile attack on Ukrainian gas production infrastructure, according to a statement from the Ukrainian company Naftogaz.

According to the company, 35 missiles, including ballistic ones, as well as 60 drones, were fired at facilities in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions. Only some of them were shot down.

Sergii  Koretskyi, chairman of the Naftogaz board, announced that a significant part of the facilities were damaged as a result of the attack, and some of the damage was critical. According to him, there was no military purpose in the strike.

The Russian attack in the Poltava region has halted the operation of several gas production facilities. In the Sumy region, the Konotop and Shostka districts were partially cut off from power.
