Russian President Vladimir Putin stated at a meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club that the use of Tomahawk missiles in Ukraine would be impossible without the direct participation of the American military.
“Tomahawk missiles can harm us, but they will also harm US-Russian relations, because without the direct participation of the American military, it is impossible to use them. This will mean a completely new, qualitatively new stage of escalation, including in relations between Russia and the United States,” Putin said.
