Elon Musk has become the first person in history to reach a net worth of $500 billion. Earlier this year, when Musk was working in the Donald Trump administration, the stock prices of his companies, especially Tesla, fell. However, after leaving the White House, the value of his companies' shares rose again.
According to Forbes magazine, the total value of Musk's assets briefly exceeded $500 billion during stock trading on Wednesday, before falling slightly to about $499 billion.
Musk is currently significantly ahead of his competitors in the race to become the wealthiest person in the world. In second place, Oracle founder Larry Ellison has a fortune of about $350 billion.
Ellison briefly surpassed Musk in September, when Oracle's stock price rose by more than 40% due to optimistic forecasts for two of the company's directions: cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence.
However, the rise in the stock prices of Musk's companies has brought him back to the top spot.
