Russia switches to importing gasoline from China

After Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil companies, almost 40% of the country's refining capacity has been shut down. This is the first such large-scale collapse in Russian history.

The Russian authorities have prepared a package of measures to start importing gasoline from China and other Asian countries to compensate for the fuel deficit.

According to Kommersant, in addition to China, Moscow also hopes to buy gasoline from South Korea and Singapore. To this end, it is planned to eliminate customs duties on fuel imported through specific checkpoints in the Far East. At the same time, the state will compensate importers from the budget for the difference between world and domestic prices.

In two months, Ukrainian drones have turned off more than 20 large power plants. Over the weekend, the Yaroslavl oil refinery was added to the list, along with the Sukhodolnaya pumping station in the Rostov region.
