Turkish National Security Council expresses support for Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement efforts

Turkey’s National Security Council condemned Israel’s “illegal policy” that amounts to genocide in the Gaza Strip and has led to a humanitarian catastrophe and deaths. The NSC emphasized that halting this policy and holding those responsible accountable is a shared responsibility of all humanity.

Chaired by Turkish President Recep Erdoğan, the Council called on the international community to act swiftly and translate the will expressed at the UN into concrete measures, reaffirming Turkey’s commitment to supporting every step towards a just and lasting peace.

The Council also expressed concern about the risk of escalation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, noting that Turkey is prepared to assume a greater responsibility for maintaining peace. Regarding Armenia, the Council reaffirmed its support for efforts to normalize relations with Armenia. It emphasized the importance of establishing a transport corridor between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan, which would serve the interests of all countries in the region.
