Ukraine should not behave as if it were a sovereign country. Orban

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has stated that Ukraine is not an independent and sovereign country, as it is heavily dependent on Western countries. If it were not for the support of the EU and NATO, Orban said, Ukraine would have already been finished.

The assessment was made in the context of the recent dispute between Hungary and Ukraine over Hungarian drones, which, as Kyiv claims, violated Ukrainian airspace in the Transcarpathian region.

According to Orban, Hungarian representatives assure that this did not happen; however, according to the prime minister, even if it were true, it would not matter.

"Let's say they flew a few meters, and then what? Ukraine is not an independent, sovereign country; we are supporting it, it should not behave as if it were sovereign," the Hungarian prime minister said, noting that Ukraine is entirely dependent on financial support from the West.
