Tony Blair could lead Gaza's transitional authority

According to the BBC, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is participating in discussions on the establishment of a transitional authority in Gaza, should a ceasefire be reached there.

The initiative, which was discussed at the UN with the participation of Donald Trump and Arab leaders, is based on the idea of transferring the administration of Gaza to a transitional body under the auspices of the UN and the support of the Gulf states.

One of the options discussed on the American side suggests that Tony Blair himself would lead it. However, his office has said that he would not support any step that involves the transfer of the population of Gaza.

Blair participated in a meeting with Trump in August to discuss post-war plans for the Gaza Strip.

The discussions take place in parallel with the fact that France, Denmark, Canada, Australia, and Britain have already officially recognized the state of Palestine, in contrast to criticism from the US and Israel.
