Indian officials have informed the administration of US President Donald Trump that a significant reduction in Russian oil imports is possible only if Washington permits the resumption of purchases from suppliers under sanctions, namely Iran and Venezuela, Bloomberg reports.
According to the agency's source familiar with the negotiations, the New Delhi delegation, which was in the United States on a visit this week, repeated this request during meetings with the Americans. According to Indian representatives, the simultaneous suspension of supplies from Russia, Iran, and Venezuela could lead to a rise in global oil prices.
