Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in New York. The parties signed a joint communiqué on the restoration of diplomatic relations between the countries.
“Today, Ukraine and Syria signed a joint communiqué on the restoration of diplomatic relations. We are glad about this important step and are ready to support the Syrian people on the path to stability,” Zelensky wrote on his Telegram channel.
The head of state noted that during the talks with his Syrian counterpart, they discussed promising areas for the development of cooperation.
