Tokayev welcomed the settlement between Azerbaijan and Armenia from the UN podium

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev delivered a speech at the general debate of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, where he also touched on the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
“We also welcome the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, mediated by the US President. This shows that even deep conflicts can be resolved through diplomacy and common sense,” he said.
According to him, the current geopolitical tensions sometimes tempt some leaders to claim that a clash of civilizations is inevitable.
