EU invites ambassador to replace Georgian Foreign Minister

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili has not been invited to the October 20 meeting of EU foreign ministers, which will include representatives from Central Asia and the Black Sea region. Brussels has said that Georgia can only be represented by its ambassador.

Tbilisi has refused to participate at such a level, saying the gesture is a sign of frivolity and another attempt to use the issue of inviting Georgia to EU events for political speculation, promoting a radical agenda and polarizing the country.
