US President Donald Trump, in his speech to the UN General Assembly, said that uncontrolled immigration and policies implemented in the framework of the fight against climate change are destroying Europe.
"It is time to stop the failed experiment with open borders. Your countries are falling into the abyss," Trump said.
According to him, Europe is doing nothing to stop the mass influx of immigrants. "Immigration and suicidal approaches to energy will kill Western Europe if it does not take immediate action," he said.
Trump noted that he sympathized with the refugees, but added: "We need to solve the problems in their countries, not create new problems in our countries."
According to him, the second reason for Europe's "falling into the abyss" is the transition to "green energy" in the framework of the fight against climate change.
Referring to the war in Ukraine, Trump repeated his previous statements, emphasizing that he believed that stopping the war would be easy thanks to his good relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He added that the United States was ready to apply "a powerful package of tariffs that would stop the war in a short time," but this would be possible only if Europe stopped buying oil and gas from Russia.
"You must immediately stop buying energy from Russia. Otherwise, we are wasting our time," Trump said. He also noted that he had recently learned about Europe's purchases of Russian energy, which, he said, was an "unpleasant surprise."
Trump devoted a significant part of his speech to criticizing the United Nations, not only on climate issues. According to him, he has stopped seven wars, but the United Nations has not supported this process. According to Trump, the United Nations promotes mass migration to the United States and Western Europe, providing financial assistance to migrants.
"The UN should be stopping invasions, not creating and funding them," Trump said.
