President Donald Trump has called Charlie Kirk a “great American hero” and a “martyr.”
On Sunday night, he joined several prominent conservatives in paying tribute to the slain conservative political activist.
“He is now a martyr for American freedom,” Trump said. “I know I speak for everyone here when I say that none of us will ever forget Charlie. And neither will history.”
The speakers highlighted Kirk’s deep faith and his firm belief that young conservatives should get married, have children, and pass on their values to others to grow the movement. They also said that the best way to honor Kirk’s memory is to redouble our efforts to move American politics to the right.
