Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, at a meeting of the heads of government of the Organization of Turkic-Speaking States in Bishkek, referred to the Washington agreements, describing them as historic. Asadov again called the “Trump route” the “Zangezur corridor,” emphasizing that its opening would increase the capacity of the middle corridor.

“Our cooperation in the transport sector is developing rapidly and is significantly contributing to strengthening regional relations. The importance of the middle corridor, which passes through the territory of the Turkic states and plays a strategic role for our region and expanding global trade and transport ties, is growing. In this context, the agreements recently reached in Washington on connecting the main territory of Azerbaijan with Nakhichevan are of historical importance,” he stated.
