The United States will allocate $ 130 million for the construction of a power transmission line connecting Moldova with Romania. The Romanian Prime Minister, Dorin Resan, announced this.
The US government’s investment will cover the entire cost of building the line, which will directly connect Moldova with Romania and the European grid.
“Thanks to the investment partnership with the United States, the government will build the Strasena-Gutinas high-voltage line, a new connection that will eliminate energy blackmail and guarantee electricity supply,” Recan said.
As the Moldovan newspaper Newsmaker specifies, this will be the third power transmission line connecting Moldova with Romania, after the Isacca-Vulcanest-Chisinau and Bălți-Suceava lines.
Recall that in December last year, Moldova was allowed to import electricity from the EU with a Ukrainian quota.
