The widow of Russian politician Alexei Navalny, Yulia Navalnaya, has announced that her husband was poisoned in a penal colony.
"In February 2024, we managed to obtain, transport abroad, and transfer Alexei's biological samples to a laboratory in one of the Western countries. A few months ago, I learned that the results had been received, and two laboratories in two countries, independently of each other, came to the conclusion that Alexei was poisoned," the widow of the deceased politician wrote in a telegram.
She added that a Russian citizen was killed on Russian territory, and Western countries have no legal grounds to initiate a criminal case.
She demanded that the results of the research into what poisoned her husband be disclosed.
The Russian Penitentiary Service announced Navalny's death on February 16, 2024. The politician's colleagues claimed he was murdered and blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin for his death. According to Russian authorities, his death was natural.
