US Secretary of State Marco Rubio traveled to Qatar on Tuesday to ask for continued mediation in the war in Gaza. Rubio told reporters that while prospects for a ceasefire remained uncertain, Qatar was the only country that could facilitate the talks.
He stressed that Washington would soon complete work on a defense agreement with Qatar. At the same time, President Donald Trump announced in Washington that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would no longer attack Qatar.
