Israel continues to carry out intensive strikes on Gaza City, and the time for the Palestinian Hamas movement to accept a ceasefire agreement is rapidly running out. This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to reporters upon his departure from Israel to Qatar.
Rubio warned that Hamas has only a few days to agree to a ceasefire.
"The Israelis have started operations there. In this regard, we believe that there is very little time left to conclude an agreement. We do not have months left, probably only days, maybe a few weeks," Rubio noted.
"Our priority is to conclude this through negotiations, when Hamas says: 'We are demilitarizing, we will no longer be a threat,'" Rubio emphasized.
