Fidan complained that the US was making an exception for Israel

The main problem in the region today is Israel's expansionist policy. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated this in an interview with Al Jazeera and Qatar TV channels.

The head of the department emphasized that there are two reasons behind this policy of Tel Aviv.

"First of all, Israel's goal is to expand its territory to create a greater Israel. Second, it is trying to weaken and divide the countries of the region, first of all its neighbors. Syria is among these countries. We, in turn, maintain close ties with these countries - Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and, of course, Syria," the diplomat explained.

The head of the department noted that all the countries of the Persian Gulf and Turkey maintain positive relations with Washington. At the same time, Fidan criticized the US policy towards Israel, which, according to him, is an exception that prevails over all other relations.

"Such an approach has cost the United States a loss of influence and position in the region and has created difficulties not only for its partners in the region, but also for the United States itself," he added.

The minister noted that Turkey continues to inform the American side about Israel's crimes against humanity, the civilian casualties resulting from its actions, the threats posed by Israel's expansionist policies in the region, and "pushing the US-led international system to the brink of collapse."

"We must acknowledge the existence of structural limitations in the American political system that hinder decisive action," he said.
