Arab and Islamic leaders are set to warn that Israel’s attack on Qatar and other “hostile actions” threaten regional coexistence and efforts to normalize relations, according to a draft resolution to be discussed at an Arab-Islamic summit in Doha on Monday.
The summit was convened in Doha in support of Qatar after Israel struck Hamas leaders based in the Gulf state.
Reuters notes that the draft resolution states, in part:
“Israel’s brutal attack on Qatar and its ongoing hostile actions, including genocide, ethnic cleansing, starvation, siege, colonialism, and expansionism, endanger the prospects for peace and coexistence in the region.”
The draft also states that these actions “threaten all achievements in the normalization of relations with Israel, including existing agreements and future arrangements.”
The draft resolution was prepared during a preliminary meeting of foreign ministers ahead of the summit.
