The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has issued a statement saying that the unrest in Serbia in recent days is mainly due to the “destructive activities” of the European Union.
The statement notes that there is growing radicalization, especially among young people.
“The goal of the European liberal mainstream is to bring to power in Serbia a leadership that will be completely subservient to Brussels,” the statement says.
According to the service’s intelligence, European circles are preparing to use the anniversary of the tragic events in Novi Sad to escalate the situation and give a new impetus to the wave of protests.
The structure emphasizes that the already tried-and-tested mechanisms of “color revolutions” are not yet effective in the case of Serbia.
