Warsaw completely closed its border crossings with Belarus tonight. Polish border guards erected barbed wire, installed shields, and stopped traffic.
The official explanation from the Polish side is security. The Russian-Belarusian military exercises "West-2025" start today, in which, according to Lithuanian intelligence, up to 30 thousand soldiers will be involved. The recent incursion of Russian drones into Poland also affected the situation.
The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement following this action, in which it noted that it demands consideration of the consequences. Belarus announced that its checkpoints will remain open.
